Lookin’ at a bag o’ candy I brought t’ work got me thinkin’ about Seafarin’ hearty Jolly rogers.

When ye think o’ buccanneers ye think about th’ Jolly Roger or a skull an’ crossbones. But this isn’t th’ only jolly roger buccanneers be havin’ flown. I spent some time down at Ocracoke Isle, arrr in North Carolina an’ learned a great deal about Blackbeard. That be when I also learned that buccanneers didn’t always fly an identical jolly roger.

Each buccanneer had a unique jolly roger fer the’r ship. But don’t start thinkin’ that buccanneers didn’t use skulls an’ bones; ‘t be a theme in almost all jolly rogers as well as hour glasses an’ swords.
